Chihuahua Found, Needs Good Home

A small Chihuahua weighing about 6 pounds was found around the library at Audelia and Church in early December.  Amy, who found her, has been trying to find her owner with no success and is now hoping to place her for adoption with a loving family.  She is calling the little dog "Holly" since she was found during the holiday season.  She was not wearing a collar and is not microchipped, but thanks to Amy is now current on her vaccinations.  She is a very good girl, and will make some deserving family a wonderful pet!  If you are interested in adopting this sweet girl or have any information regarding her owners, please call Amy at 214-208-7976 or email at aerschen@themarketingarm.com.  This is a recent picture of "Holly".

Found: Very Friendly Female Cat, Needs Loving Home

An animal loving family in a neighboring area of Lake Highlands has found a grey and white female cat.  She has been lost for awhile as she is very thin.  They are feeding her and giving her lots of love.  She is definitely a lap cat, she loves to be petted and stroked. She is obviously someone's lost pet as she wants to come in the house and is not afraid of their dog.  Sadly, the lady who found her is allergic to cats so they cannot keep her.  They are hoping to find her family or have someone adopt this sweet girl.  She was found in the Lake Highlands Square area on Spring Valley. Contact information:

We are your neighbors in the 11000 block of Cactus Ln (Cindy & James).

Here's the skinny on Inky. She's about 8 yrs old, excellent health, house broken, about 40lbs, beagle mix. Current on all vacs etc.

Found Dog

Our good neighbor, Susan, found this pup on 9/4 on LBJ between the Plano Rd and Kingsley exits. He was literally on the highway about to dart into traffic. He has a collar but no tags and no chip. He is an unaltered male probably less than a year old. He is probably dachshund and some basset hound.

Susan can't keep him for long so if he belongs to you or you know his owner, OR can give him a good home, please contact Susan at 972-998-8379 or call PetWatch at 972-305-5210.

Adopt this Dog

This pup needs a new home. Her owner is moving and cannot keep her. She is a Blue heeler mixed with lab and retriever. 2yrs old on valentines day 2011. Female, great with my 1yr old daughter, can sit, stay, speak, shake, lay, and come. She is also spayed and microchipped with the advantage of being housebroken. Been a valuable member of my family, never once showed any signs of aggression. Loves the park, take her twice a week, loves to swim. Her name is Blue due to the blue heeler, blue eye, and our favorite color is blue. She loves to cuddle on the couch or even sleep with us in bed.

If interested, please contact Kim at 214-687-8394

Sky, the Siamese kitten, needs a new home

Clarice, one of our neighbors, is fostering a 4 month old male Siamese kitten. His name is Sky and he belonged to a lady who lost her husband a couple of months ago. The family has just moved into a place that will not allow pets.

Sky is very sweet and playful, and is exceptionally gentle for a kitten his age. He is strictly an indoor cat - has never been outdoors and can only be placed in an indoor home. If you are interested in adopting Sky, please contact Clarice via email at cjjackson1208@yahoo.com

Bic, the blue heeler mix, needs a new home

The Whites on Mediterranean are trying to find a new home for their dog, Bic.

Bic is past the puppy stage, but he is energetic and loves to run and play outside. However, he does great inside the house too. He is house-trained, obedient and knows most basic commands (sit, stay, no, come, kennel, shake, etc). He is a calm dog who loves to cuddle. Bic likes to play with kids and other dogs, and he's good with cats too.

If you're looking for a new four-legged, furry friend, Bic would be a wonderful addition to your family. He is sweet and loyal and makes a great friend and companion.

Stats and health information: 7 years old, born 5/7/03; 55 pounds; 1/2 Blue Heeler, 1/4 Australian Shepherd and 1/4 Kelpie. Neutered, micro-chipped, current on shots and heartworm medication.

If you would like more information, please contact Brodie at 214-914-3052 or Amy at 214-914-0803.

Abandoned dogs need new home

Cyndi, one of our neighbors in Lakeridge Estates North, rescued two small dogs who were abandoned at the White Rock dog park last Saturday. One is an un-neutered male bishon/poodle mix and the other is a female Maltese. They seem like fairly young dogs, and they are well behaved and housebroken. If you are interested in adopting these sweet pups, contact Cyndi at 214-341-5022 (home) or 214-674-8202 (cell).

Two daschunds abandoned on Quail Run

David on Quail Run found two un-neutered male daschunds, along with their crate, abandoned in his driveway this afternoon. They did not have collars or microchips. One is a tan colored puppy, about 4 1/2 months old, who weighs 10 pounds. He's a standard daschund, who will grow to about 17 - 18 pounds, according to the vet. The other is a black and tan miniature daschund, about 3 years old. He is thin and weighs 8.2 pounds. According to the vet, he should weigh 9 pounds or so. We had them checked by a vet and should have results from their tests in the next couple of days.

We are looking for a permanent home, or a longer term foster home. We are trying to find a breed rescue group who will take them, but that usually takes a while and we need a foster home in the interim. We'd like to keep them together -- they seem to be a pair. They are very friendly and seem to be crate-trained.

Please contact Petwatch at 972-305-5210 if you are interested in adopting or fostering these two sweet pups.

Abby needs a home

We received a plea from a local vet clinic indicating this little girl had literally been thrown away by the owner and if nothing could be found for her, she would be euthanized. We figured -- it's a nine month old, female, 13 pound Yorkie/Maltese mix - surely we can find something good for her quickly. (She was purchased from a puppy mill. We have all her paperwork.)

To make a VERY long story short, Abby was evidently kept crated her entire life which has left her with some behavioral issues. Our vet (who is also a behaviorist) believes strongly this girl can be normal in time if she has someone that will be patient with her -- and COMMIT to her rehabilitation.

Because Yorkies and Maltese often have hereditary physical problems, we have done all our due diligence testing -- bile acid testing for possible liver shunt, chem balance testing, cbc, etc. All test results are normal. Abby is completely healthy. She is temporarily living at the vet clinic.

I know I am asking a lot. But I believe with all my heart there is someone out there that is capable and nurturing and will give this girl the chance she never had. She was kept confined in a prison from 8 weeks of age to 8 months of age. Please don't let her life end now.

PLEASE RESPOND TO: CAN_RESCUE@YAHOO.COM.

Rupert needs a home

Kathryn writes "My friend Casey rescued a dog named Rupert last year but now her land-lady wants her to take in HER dog (a large rottie) because she (the landlady) is moving into an apartment. She now can't keep Rupert (which the landlady didn't know about in the first place). Rupert is VERY friendly, housebroken and gets along with cats and other dogs. He is a real house dog and a great companion. Comes with blankie and toys. I have enclosed pics of him. Can you post Rupert and help him find a good home? He weighs about 10 pounds. He is about 2 1/2 years old.  Casey's number is: 972-342-6636. Rupert lives currently in Richardson at the Floyd/Beltline area."

Angel the cat is looking for a special home

One of our neighbors recently found a very unusual cat -- she's blind and probably has been since birth, according to a veterinarian. She didn't have a collar or microchip, so Kathryn on Quail Run has taken her in. Kathryn calls her "Angel" and has had her spayed, and checked for heartworm and feline leukemia. Angel was negative for both and is recovering from her surgery very well. Now, she's looking for a permanent home. She's a very pretty, loving cat, who loves to curl up in your lap. She's a small cat, probably about 6 -7 months old. Of course, she will need to be an inside cat. If you are interested in fostering or adopting her, please contact Petwatch.

Sophie's looking for a home!

Sophie is a female German Shepherd mix who's about 8 months old. She and her two sisters were found abandoned in a field a couple of months ago. Sophie probably had an untreated eye infection when she was young, so she lost one of her eyes. That doesn't slow her down though - she's just an energetic, sweet puppy who loves belly rubs. She's had all of her shots, has been spayed, is crate trained and house trained. She knows basic commands, and is learning to walk on a leash. She is one of Animal Allies pups, but they do not have a foster home for her, so she lives at a vet's office and has to spend way too much time in a kennel. She needs a foster home short-term and/or a forever home. Sophie gets along well with other dogs and with children, but she would probably do better in a home with older children, as she's a big girl.

If you would like to meet Sophie or learn more about her, please visit http://www.animalalliesoftexas.org/, or email aatmail@animalalliesoftexas.org.

Kittens available for adoption

All,

Here are the pics of the kittens dumped in the Garland park that I walk at
last weekend. Jenny (see below) who was at the park offered to foster the
Mom and Kittens. The mom is a pretty little calico.
Mom and kittens are all friendly, clean and seem to be in very good health.
Please contact Jenny below (or forward to friends) if you or someone would
be interested in adopting. Jenny is hoping to not have to take them to the
City Shelter.

Thanks All!
