That Important Little Tag, A Success Story

That Important Little Tag!

As you know, we have three family dogs. Occasionally their tags are removed, but I know that those tags need to remain on at all times. For instance...This evening a home repairman was here working outside, and the dogs were safely in the house. When the man left, a family member let Max outdoors, but did not check the gate. Sure enough, it was left open. We were not aware of the open gate until our doorbell rang quite some time later and we found two kind Highland Meadows neighbors, their two dogs, and Max at the front door. He apparently had been enjoying an evening jaunt and was recovered by these conscientious Petwatch neighbors a couple of blocks away. Being the friendly kind of guy that he is, Max readily came to them. He was wearing his rabies vet tag, his City of Dallas tag, and a bone-shaped tag that said: Max, 89xx Hackney Lane, 214-348-xxxx. This was the important one, as it would have been impossible for anyone to reach the city at that hour for identification. That tag brought them right to our door with Max! Thank you, Chris and Samantha, for taking the time to bring the wanderer back home! These personal I.D. tags can be inscribed and purchased at a vending-type machine at many pet stores. Max's tag was purchased at Petco in Casa Linda and cost about $7or $8, as I recall. Although he's registered with our Petwatch, has a microchip, and was wearing city and vet tags, that little tag was the quickest and easiest way to identify Max's home. It's worth much more than the price I paid for it! Joyce
